UNIFORM

We are proud of who we are at Friends' Rowing. Having our students identify as a part of our community is important to us whether it be training on the Derwent, walking around at regattas or on the water racing.

Students will need to wear full school sports uniform at regattas. When racing it is important that a crew is in matching school rowing uniform; from hats down to socks.

Students from U14 up to Opens will need to purchase a zoot suit.  Friends' zoot suits, or zooties, are required to be worn for training and racing. Zoot suits are available from the School Shop. For warmth, students may wear the rowing training top or thermals (during training only).

Under 13 crews wear the school polo shirts and sports shorts for regattas/races.

Training Kit

All rowers should bring their complete rowing kit to all rowing training sessions. We are an outdoor sport totally subject to the weather, and sometimes on-water training is not possible. If rowers have a complete kit with them, other cross-training opportunities are available to coaches. The rowing kit should contain:

  • Rowing zootie or shorts and top, and a hat (hats are available directly from the Rowing Committee, not the School Shop).

  • Socks to be worn in the boat

  • Towel

  • Tracksuit

  • Footwear (thongs, scuffs etc.)

  • Sand shoes

  • Change of clothes

  • Water bottle

  • Sunscreen

  • Sunglasses (recommended)
